TATTOO ARTISTS AND PIERCERS

MIKE MARTIN

RIP Master Chief Mike Martin 2019

Mike was a jack of all trades, he was a Navy Seal and retired a Master Chief in 2003 quite a legend!  He opened up FSG while still active with the teams in 1994 and has been open ever since.  Mike passed away peacefully during a nap May 30, 2019 on a motorcycle trip back from the wall, a ride he never missed.   Mike was the most interesting person most of us have ever met and we are all so grateful to have been blessed to know him well.

LAURA BECKER

Owner/Tattoo Artist

Apprenticed under Dwayne Norton of Tower Tattoo where she learned the basics of tattooing, lettering, composition and the different styles of tattooing

Laura came to my shop in 2010 and has been learning more everyday and her work shows it. She is a gifted artist and has the touch of a Healer; and her energy is peaceful and comforting to her clients.

Laura’s work ranges from very simple

to very complex bodywork, full back tattoos, large rib tattoo, full frontal tattooing and sleeves. Her lettering is excellent and her fonts are many.  She enjoys black and grey, and realism.

She has been tattooing breast cancer survivors areolas and her work is beautiful.

-Mike Martin

I recently purchased FSG Tattoo with my husband Matthew from Mike’s wife Gale.   We want to continue honoring Mike and his legacy and continue to tattoo and and make art for our community in Imperial Beach!

JOHN FLEMMONS

Piercer

Johnny works full time as a card dealer at night and works at FSG on Saturday and Sunday as our piercer.  He is an asset to the shop, especially during busy weekend afternoons, helping piercing clients with their piercings and helping the, troubleshoot unruly piercings.  He is always optimistic and extremely dedicated to perfecting his craft.  Johnny is an accomplished piercer, and when you come to FSG you will see his friendly face welcoming you in.

BRANDON BELLAMA

Tattooer

Brandon came to FSG as a guest artist in 2021 as he was finishing up his apprenticeship under his mentor Justin Cota.   Brandon came to FSG as a full time artist in June of this year and we couldn’t be happier to have him.   Brandon enjoys doing Neo-traditional tattoos and continues to venture in other styles with color and black and grey.

MILITARY

Mike was a retired Master Chief Navy Seal, so we have been blessed to be able to work closely with the Navy as well as the other branches.  We are surrounded by the southern bases in Imperial Beach/San Diego/Coronado, and price our tattoos extremely fair.   We enjoy doing fun events or fundraisers that benefit our active duty and veterans.

PIERCING AFTERCARE GUIDE

Piercing aftercare
Clean both sides of the jewelry where it meets the skin twice a day with sterile saline.
Do Not twist and turn the jewelry, doing so breaks the bond your body is trying to make with the jewelry and is almost like ripping a scab off... it’s going to restart the healing process or form a piercing bump/ keloid.
Leave the jewelry alone,no touching with dirty hands, bumping, snagging, pulling, etc.
Do not take the jewelry out to clean ,leave the jewelry in while cleaning it. If you take the jewelry out fir any reason it will end up closing;
you have to have your piercing for years to build up enough scar tissue to take it in and out when ever , and even in those cases your body still wants to heal and will eventually close up the piercing hole.
Do Not use alcohol, rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide to clean your piercings;if you treat it with these products meant for wounds your body will think the jewelry is the problem and reject the jewelry.
Showers are fine, but any laying body of water has bacteria in it and can cause irritation or infection to a healing piercing.
Most piercings take months to heal so cleaning it twice a day is recommended until there is no more discharge and or discomfort.
If something isn’t going well with your piercing I’m always willing to help make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible so that you’re happy with your piercing and it’s healing process. I always answer questions via Instagram and my personal cell if you run into any problems with your jewelry.
